Bubbles Please 2015

mirrored platform, white ladder, bubbles, clip light, metal fortune cookie necklace ( found object), net sweater and nude clothing, small amp, contact mic attached to the back of 1 female bodied performer. 1 male bodied performer. two cups of tea. tall wheat stems.
The male performer climbs the ladder to turn on the light after turning on the amp and setting up the wheat stems around the female. The female performer is on the platform with a contact mic already attached knowingly waiting. As the bubbles are blown by the male performer at the top of the ladder and float toward the female on the mirrored platform, the female performer is filled with anticipation and fear. As she moves she affects the contact mic, creating feedback, especially when the bubbles pop on her. This goes on as both performers play the timing and amount of the bubbles and the feedback. She is increasingly tortured in a subtle and contorted way. The male bodied performer eventually comes down from the ladder disconnecting her and handing her a cup of tea. They sit on the platform drinking tea. They leave together. (approx 9 min)
