Ghost Family House is an art residency (free) and community performance space where ancestors welcome you from the trees.  Rest and safety in a family house is not a privilege all creatives have access to. We support artists from marginalized populations in Richmond, Va.

Our History

After 10 years of working to save their family home from foreclosure, Isa Leal (the living family member) collaboratively hosts cross-disciplinary creative community to honor their grandmother’s legacy with Gareth Ewing (Events), Carson Lee Parris (Gallery), and Gabby Torres (Operations). It is in the name of Adriana Guzman, a creative genius, who never even got to go to high school, but whose mind was consistently innovating for the good of her family, that we continue to make and imagine. Ghost Family House is made possible with the labor and kindness of friend-family.
